Tabora United promised TZS 60 million for beating Yanga

Tabora Regional Commissioner Paul Chacha has pledged a TZS 60 million cash reward to Tabora United players if they secure a victory against Yanga SC in their upcoming NBC Tanzania Premier League match.

The highly anticipated clash is set to take place the day after tomorrow at Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium in Tabora.

Excitement is building as fans eagerly await to see if Tabora United can replicate their impressive first-round performance, where they shocked Yanga with a 3-1 victory.

This match carries great significance for both teams. For Yanga, a win would help maintain their title challenge, while for Tabora United, defeating one of Tanzania’s football giants would boost their confidence and improve their league standing.

Addressing the players and the technical bench today, March 31, 2025, Chacha emphasized the need for commitment and determination, urging them to put in their best effort to secure another historic victory.

"I want to see you fight for every ball and give everything on the pitch," Chacha told the players. "Your job is to train hard, eat well, and rest properly—leave the rest to us.

If you do your part and win, a TZS 60 million reward awaits you." His promise of a financial incentive is expected to serve as a major motivation for the team, which has already demonstrated resilience throughout the season.

Chacha expressed confidence that his pledge would push the players to perform beyond expectations. "I want us to teach them a lesson the day after tomorrow. So go and train hard, fight with everything you have, and make sure we get the result we want," he added.

Beyond motivating the players, Chacha also called upon the people of Tabora to show up in large numbers to support their team.

He stressed that a strong home crowd presence could create an electrifying atmosphere, giving the players the extra push they need.

"Our young men need your support," he said. "Fill the stadium, cheer them on, and make sure they feel the strength of the entire region behind them. This is our team, and they need us now more than ever."

Tabora is known for its passionate football fans, and with Chacha’s call to action, the stadium is expected to be packed with enthusiastic supporters rallying behind their team.

Tabora United made headlines in the first round when they stunned Yanga SC with a 3-1 victory, an outcome considered one of the biggest upsets of the season.

That result proved that the team could compete at the highest level, but Yanga will undoubtedly be seeking revenge, adding further intensity to this fixture.

For Tabora United, this match is more than just a game—it is an opportunity to build momentum and climb higher in the league standings.

The players have been working hard in training, and reports suggest they are fully motivated to deliver a strong performance.

With the added motivation of a financial bonus and the advantage of playing at home, Tabora United will be aiming to rise to the occasion and deliver another memorable victory.

As the countdown to the big game continues, all eyes will be on Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium to see if Tabora United can once again defy the odds and secure a historic win over the league giants.
