After a challenging start in the Dar es Salaam Volleyball League, KIUT’s Head Coach, Edwin Masinga, has expressed his determination to return to the field, address mistakes, and secure better results in the upcoming match.
KIUT will face Tanzania Prisons in their next league game, scheduled for March 22 at the KIUT Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
In their opening match, KIUT suffered a 3-0 defeat to Jeshi Stars on March 15 at the same venue.
Speaking exclusively to The Respondent Online, Masinga revealed that the team has already returned to the training field today to prepare for the next fixture.
"The loss in the first match, especially at home, has motivated me to learn from the mistakes that were made," Masinga said.
"It’s a common occurrence to face setbacks early on. We may start slow, but we will build up the momentum as we go because our ultimate goal is for every team to reach the finals."
He also provided insights into this season’s league, highlighting the increased competitiveness as teams have strengthened their squads with high-quality signings.
"This season, the league has really heated up. The enthusiasm is high, and the competition has become fiercer. More teams have joined this year, compared to previous seasons," he explained.
The league has attracted 29 teams, including both male and female teams, from various regions across the city.
In Serie A, there are 13 teams—six women’s teams and seven men’s teams—while Serie B features 16 teams, consisting of 10 men’s teams and six women’s teams.
