By Victoria Godfrey

The big match between Simba Queens and Yanga Princess will take place tomorrow at KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.

This game is part of the Tanzania Women's Premier League and will decide who is stronger in this fierce rivalry.

In their first meeting this season, Simba Queens defeated Yanga Princess 1-0.

Speaking to journalists today, March 17, 2025, the coaches and players of both teams shared their preparations and expectations for the match.

Yanga Princess head coach, Edna Lema, said her team has trained well and is ready to fight for a win.

"This is an important match for us. We know Simba is a strong team and they are leading the league, but we are prepared. I encourage our fans to come and support us," said Edna.

She added that the match will be tough and competitive, with both teams having an equal chance to win.

However, the team that plays better will take the victory, which will also affect Yanga's position in the league.

Yanga Princess player Neema Paul said the team is ready to give their best and fight for three points.

"Our coaches have prepared us well. Now it is our turn as players to perform. We respect Simba, but we have studied their weaknesses and will use them to our advantage," she said.

On the other side, Simba Queens head coach Yussif Basigi said his team is also ready and determined to win.

"We are competing closely with JKT Queens in the league, so we need to get good results to stay in our position," he said.

He admitted the game will be challenging, but his players are well-prepared to give a strong performance.

Simba Queens player Violeth Nicholaus also expressed confidence in her team’s ability to win.

"We are ready and fully committed to fighting for a victory," she said.
