JKT Queens have reclaimed the top spot in the Tanzania Women's Premier League after a dominant 5-0 victory over Mashujaa Queens, displacing Simba Queens from the summit.
The match, played yesterday at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium in Dar es Salaam, saw JKT Queens take an early lead in the 2nd minute through Jamila Rajabu.
Winfrida Gerald extended the advantage just before halftime, scoring in the 42nd minute to give JKT a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break.
In the second half, JKT Queens continued their dominance. Stumai Abdallah struck twice in the 64th and 83rd minutes, before Janeth Matulanga put the icing on the cake with a stoppage-time goal in the 90+4th minute, sealing an emphatic win.
With this victory, JKT Queens now sit at the top of the league standings with 35 points, overtaking Simba Queens, who drop to second with 34 points. Yanga Queens remain third with 27 points, while Mashujaa Queens are fourth with 18 points.
