Songea United is preparing to take on Yanga in the highly anticipated CRDB Federation Cup match, set to take place on March 29, 2025, at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.

As the away team, Songea United will face the hosts, Yanga, in a Round of 16 clash, with both teams battling for a spot in the quarter-finals of the prestigious competition.

In an exclusive interview with The Respondent Online, Songea United's team secretary, Onesmo Emeran, shared that the team is in full preparation mode for the upcoming match.

"We are focused on getting our players ready to show their talents. This is a great opportunity for them to demonstrate their abilities, which could catch the attention of other clubs for potential transfers in the upcoming season," said Emeran.

He emphasized the importance of mental preparation, especially since they will be up against a well-established team with experienced players.

"We are ensuring that our players stay mentally strong. They are playing against a top-tier team with a deep squad of skilled, experienced players.

They should not be overly concerned with the results but instead focus on giving their best and playing with discipline.

The difference in stature between the two teams is clear, so they must remain focused and vigilant throughout the match," Emeran added.

He also noted the value of this game for the younger players, who will have the chance to learn from and compete against some of the biggest names in Tanzanian football, including Chama, Pacome, and others.

"For our young players, this is an invaluable opportunity to showcase their talents. If they perform well, it could open doors for them, much like it did for Selemani Bwenzi, who made the leap from the Mbeya Championship team. This experience will be a crucial lesson for them," Emeran concluded.
