Can JKT Queens overtake Simba Queens tomorrow?

By Flora Mkoloma

JKT Queens will take on Mashujaa Queens tomorrow in a highly anticipated Tanzania Women’s Premier League match at the Major General Isamuhyo Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Currently, JKT Queens sit in second place with 32 points, trailing Simba Queens, who lead the table with 34 points. Simba Queens dropped points today, losing 1-0 to Yanga Princess.

If JKT Queens secures a victory and earns three points tomorrow, they will move to the top of the table with 35 points, pushing Simba Queens into second place.

Originally scheduled for March 17, the match was postponed and has now been rescheduled for tomorrow.

Cliford Mario Ndimbo, the spokesperson for the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), explained that many of JKT Queens' players were involved in the national women's U-17 team, which was competing in the World Cup qualification rounds.

He mentioned that those players have since returned, and the match will proceed as planned tomorrow.

"Since most of JKT Queens’ players had national team duties, participating in the World Cup qualifiers, they have now finished their responsibilities and returned," he said.

JKT Queens, with 32 points, are in second place, while Mashujaa Queens sit in fourth with 18 points, having both played 12 matches.
