Yanga Princess secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over their fierce rivals, Simba Queens, in the Women's Premier League derby held today at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.
The first half concluded with both teams locked in a goalless draw, heading into the break at 0-0.
However, in the 47th minute, Yanga Princess took the lead with a well-taken goal from Jeannine Mukandayisenga, putting them 1-0 ahead.
Despite Simba Queens' efforts to equalize, the score remained unchanged throughout the second half, ensuring Yanga Princess clinched the 1-0 win.
Although they were defeated, Simba Queens still maintain the top position in the league with 34 points. JKT Queens follow closely in second place with 32 points, while Yanga Princess moves up to 27 points, just behind.
