By Our Reporter

The 24-hour weather forecast for Tanzania, starting at 9:00 PM tonight, February 8, 2025, predicts a variety of weather conditions across the country.

Coastal areas such as Dar es Salaam, Tanga, Zanzibar, and Mtwara are expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by strong winds reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h.

The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) has warned fishermen and marine operators to be cautious due to high tides and rough seas.

Temperatures in these regions will range from 24°C at night to 31°C during the day. Northern regions like Arusha, Kilimanjaro, and Manyara will see light showers and cloudy skies, with Kilimanjaro experiencing cooler temperatures ranging from 14°C at night to 25°C during the day.

While there are no major weather disruptions expected, travelers to national parks or outdoor activities should be prepared for occasional drizzle and misty conditions, especially at higher altitudes.

The Lake Victoria Basin, including Mwanza, Mara, Kagera, Shinyanga, and Geita, will face scattered thunderstorms, particularly in the early morning and late afternoon.

Intermittent rainfall is expected in Mwanza and Bukoba, with temperatures ranging from 18°C at night to 28°C during the day.

Strong winds may cause rough waters on Lake Victoria, so fishermen and boat operators should take precautions.

Central regions such as Dodoma and Singida will experience dry and partly cloudy weather with little chance of rain.

Temperatures in these areas will range from 19°C at night to 32°C during the day. Residents should watch out for dust storms and dehydration, and farmers should keep an eye on weather updates, as extended dry conditions could affect crops.

In western Tanzania, moderate rainfall is expected in places like Kigoma and parts of Tabora, with significant cloud cover and temperatures ranging from 20°C at night to 30°C during the day.

Motorists should be cautious on wet and slippery roads. The southern highlands, including Mbeya, Iringa, Njombe, and Rukwa, will experience cool and cloudy weather with occasional showers.

Night temperatures may drop to 12°C, and daytime temperatures will range from 22°C to 26°C. Residents should dress warmly, particularly in the early morning and late evening.

Lindi, Ruvuma, and Mtwara will see scattered showers, with temperatures ranging from 23°C to 30°C. Some areas may experience thunderstorms in the late evening and early morning, and travelers should be cautious as heavy rainfall could temporarily disrupt roads.

Residents across the country are advised to stay informed about the weather and take necessary precautions, especially in coastal areas, around Lake Victoria, and on wet roads in the western and lake zone regions.

The TMA will continue to provide real-time updates to help people stay safe.
