The Deputy Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups, Hon. Mwanaidi Ali Khamis, has affirmed that the sixth phase of government, led by President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, will continue focusing on the renovation of outdated infrastructure and the construction of modern facilities for training institutions, especially Community Development Colleges.

Hon. Mwanaidi made the statement on February 8, 2025, in Iringa, during the inauguration of the Dining Hall building at Ruaha Community Development College.

She noted that Ruaha Community Development College is one of the training institutions that have benefited from the significant investment made by the government.

The government has allocated funds for the renovation of the Administration Building, the Girls' Dormitory, and the Innovation and Knowledge Center.

Furthermore, the government has provided funds for the construction of two dormitories, a library, a lecture hall, and a modern dining hall, all of which have enhanced the scope of educational services offered at the college.

In the 2022/23 fiscal year, the government allocated TZS 500 million for the construction of the dining hall, aiming to address the challenge students faced regarding the lack of proper dining facilities.

"I urge us all to unite in congratulating the President and his responsive government for resolving the long-standing issue students faced.

I believe this dining hall will significantly enhance the academic environment at the college by providing students with access to meals in a safe, friendly, and timely manner," said Deputy Minister Mwanaidi.

Mwanaidi also urged the Ruaha Community Development College community to take good care of all the college's infrastructure, particularly the dining hall, to ensure that the government's goal of creating an infrastructure that supports quality education for the citizens is fully achieved as intended.

On her part, the Chairperson of the College Board and the Regional Administrative Secretary of Iringa, Doris Kalasa, expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups for enabling the college to improve its infrastructure, aligning with the evolving needs of education delivery, especially in the face of technological changes.

The Principal of Ruaha Community Development College, Godfrey Mafungu, assured Deputy Minister Mwanaidi that he would ensure proper management and maintenance of the college's infrastructure so that it lasts and benefits generations of students to come.
