The Minister for Works, Abdallah Ulega, has directed leaders and employees in the construction sector to ensure value for money in the implementation and supervision of key infrastructure projects across the country, including roads, bridges, ferries, government buildings, and airports.
Speaking at the opening of the Workers’ Council meeting in Singida, Minister Ulega underscored the importance of prudent financial management in government-funded projects, urging officials to uphold transparency and efficiency.
"I instruct you to remain committed to President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan’s vision by ensuring that every project reflects its true financial value," Ulega stated.
He also tasked the Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) with intensifying efforts to oversee emergency road infrastructure projects, particularly those affected by the El Niño rains and Cyclone Hidaya, which have been allocated TZS 868.56 billion.
