The Government of Tanzania, led by Prof. Kitila Mkumbo, the Minister of State in the President’s Office for Planning and Investment, alongside other senior officials, recently hosted a significant meeting with a business delegation from Saudi Arabia to discuss investment opportunities and deepen bilateral cooperation.
The delegation, headed by Albara Alaskandarani, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Planning for Saudi Arabia, consisted of 30 business leaders from a wide range of sectors, including energy, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, industry, trade, and transportation.
During the meeting, Alaskandarani commended the Tanzanian government for its commitment to boosting economic growth, highlighting that these efforts are expected to provide sustainable solutions to several developmental challenges.
Representing the energy sector, Judith Kapinga, the Deputy Minister of Energy, attended the meeting on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko.
The gathering was also graced by Selemani Jafo, the Minister of Industry and Trade, David Kihenzile, the Deputy Minister of Transport, along with senior officials from the Ministry of Energy, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, and officials from the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC).
The meeting underscored Tanzania’s ongoing efforts to attract foreign investment, a strategy aimed at accelerating economic development and fostering broader social prosperity.
