On February 7, 2025, a group of 65 staff members from the Tengeru Institute of Community Development (TICD) took part in a historic tour of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) to explore its renowned tourism attractions.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Bakari George, the Director of TICD, explained that the purpose of the excursion was to promote domestic tourism among the institution’s staff and to support the initiatives of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan in advancing the growth and recognition of Tanzania’s tourism sector.

Dr. Bakari highlighted that the trip provided a valuable opportunity for the TICD staff to witness firsthand the unique wildlife and natural beauty of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which is home to the "Big 5" animals—lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, and leopard—living in their pristine and well-preserved habitats.

Two of the participating staff members, Ms. Patricia Kabaka and Mr. Noeli Mkwizu, expressed their deep appreciation to the institute's leadership for organizing such an enriching experience.

They emphasized that the visit would not only enhance their work productivity and motivation but also encourage other staff members to visit the conservation area with their families, further contributing to the promotion of domestic tourism.
