The Shotokan Karate Federation of Tanzania (TSKF) is gearing up to host the first-ever Union Karate Championship, set to take place in Zanzibar later this year.
This groundbreaking event marks the first time a karate competition of this nature will be held, bringing together athletes from both mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar.
Speaking to The Respondent Online, TSKF President Sensei Yahya Mgeni expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, noting that it will be a standout event in the federation’s 2024 calendar.
“This year, we are introducing several unique activities, including the Union Championship.
It’s the first of its kind, and we are excited to unite teams from across the Union,” he said.
Sensei Yahya also revealed that TSKF is in the final stages of preparing its 2025 events calendar, which promises even more opportunities for karate enthusiasts across the nation.
