The completion of the Kinango Village Dispensary in the Nyigogo Ward of Magu District is set to alleviate the longstanding challenge faced by villagers who currently travel long distances to access healthcare services at the nearby Ychobela Dispensary.

This development was announced by Simon Mpandalume, the Chairman of the Magu District Council and Councilor for Nyigogo Ward, during a public meeting with the residents of Kinango.

Mpandalume assured the villagers that the council has allocated funds from its internal revenue to complete the construction of the dispensary.

This move is expected to significantly improve access to healthcare for the community.

In addition, Mpandalume revealed that the government has also earmarked funds from internal revenue for the completion of the office for the Kinango Village Executive Officer, further enhancing administrative services in the area.

On the issue of electricity, Mpandalume highlighted that out of the 82 villages in Magu District, 81 are already connected to the national grid.

The only exception is Ijinga, a village located on an island. However, the government has included Ijinga in a plan to extend electricity services to the village.

In other villages, the remaining task is to extend electricity to the hamlets.

Looking ahead, Mpandalume confirmed that in the 2025-2026 financial year budget, the council has allocated resources to provide electricity to several hamlets in Kinango Village, ensuring broader access to power in the community.

This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and enhance the quality of life for residents of Magu District.
