Mussa Hamis Bwashari has today 4th December, 2025, officially submitted his nomination forms for the position of Deputy Secretary General of Bavicha at the party’s offices in Kinondoni, Dar es Salaam.
Representing Bavicha from Kigamboni constituency, Bwashari emphasized his commitment to transparency and efficiency, pledging to strengthen the party by fostering democracy and teamwork.
“I urge party members to support me for a transparent and efficient Bavicha, so we can achieve our goals of empowering young people democratically,” said Bwashari, who has over a decade of experience serving Chadema in various capacities, from grassroots to district-level leadership.
Bwashari joins other candidates vying for different positions, including Sheila Juma Ntanga, who is running for the role of Bavicha National Secretary General.
Speaking during the submission of her forms, Sheila said, “I believe in genuine progress for young people in every sector, especially in leveraging technological advancements in politics. Leadership means being a driving force for all Tanzanian youth.
I have stepped forward, collected my forms, and I am confident I am the right choice for this role.”
The nomination process has sparked a renewed spirit of democracy within the party, as candidates continue to promote collaboration and unity among young members.
The competition for leadership positions in Bavicha has remained intense, spanning district, regional, and national levels. Despite recent political challenges at higher levels within CHADEMA, youth councils like Bavicha and Bawata have maintained their commitment to true democracy, fostering a culture of open competition and merit-based leadership selection.
Badi Hussein Kileta, who is seeking the role of Bavicha Treasurer, has also returned his nomination forms. Kileta previously contested for the position of councilor for Kipawa Ward in the 2020 general elections. He noted, “Discipline among youth has been a major challenge, but I am committed to improving focus and ensuring we develop competent leaders both within and outside the party.”
Another notable contender, Nice Sumari, is vying for a leadership position on the Bavicha National Disciplinary Committee. She remarked, “This is a crucial moment to reinforce discipline and build a strong foundation for effective leadership.”
The contribution of party elders to the growth of youth leadership was also highlighted. Athumani Zahoro Makono, a party mentor in Kigamboni, praised the dedication of young leaders, stating, “The youth of Kigamboni have demonstrated resilience and commitment in fulfilling the party’s goals. I believe they will continue to bring positive change.”
Nuru Kisaka Mcharo, Chairperson of Bavicha Kibamba constituency, commended Nice Sumari for her exemplary performance and urged the party’s National Executive Committee members to support her candidacy. “Let us work together to restore hope for all Tanzanian youth and bring vibrancy back to our council,” Mcharo said.
The ongoing election process within Bavicha has energized the party’s democratic spirit, showcasing a renewed commitment to building strong councils and fostering competent leadership.
This election marks a critical step for Bavicha youth in achieving their operational and democratic goals for the betterment of both the party and the nation.
