The Netball Union League is picking up pace in Dar es Salaam, with teams displaying impressive skill and determination in the ongoing matches at the outdoor Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

As the competition heats up, the performances have been nothing short of exciting, captivating both players and spectators alike.

In one of the standout matches, KVZ secured a commanding 49-34 victory over Mafunzo, demonstrating their attacking prowess and solid defense.

The match was a thrilling showcase of teamwork and strategy, as KVZ controlled the game from start to finish.

In another close contest, JKU narrowly lost 41-40 to Uhamiaji in a match filled with tense moments.

Despite JKU’s strong performance, they couldn’t close the gap, with Uhamiaji holding their ground throughout.

Meanwhile, Zimamoto put on a dominant display, defeating Afya 52-20. Zimamoto’s performance was characterized by clinical precision and an unwavering defense, leaving Afya with little room to recover.

Following the JKU-Uhamiaji match, JKU’s coach, Abdallah Abdallah, admitted the team’s defeat, acknowledging that while they had numerous scoring opportunities, they struggled to capitalize on them.

He emphasized that their goal scorers had failed to convert several chances, which ultimately cost them the match.

On the other hand, JKU’s captain, Salome Martine, expressed optimism despite the loss, stating that they would regroup and focus on improving their gameplay in preparation for the upcoming matches.

The league continues tomorrow with a series of exciting fixtures: KVZ will take on Afya, followed by Magereza facing off against Afya, and finally, Uhamiaji will play against Zimamoto. With the competition intensifying, fans can look forward to more thrilling netball action in the coming days.
