Mchanja and Fajardo to clash for WBO global title

Tanzanian professional boxer Yohana Mchanja and his Philippine counterpart, Miel Fajardo, have promised fireworks ahead of their international showdown for the prestigious WBO Global Championship title.

The two fighters exchanged bold statements today during the official weigh-in ceremony held at Coco Beach, Dar es Salaam. 

The bout, part of the "Knockout ya Mama" series, is scheduled for tomorrow at the Super Dome in Masaki, where Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa is expected to grace the event as the guest of honor.

After weighing in, Mchanja confidently assured his supporters that he is fully prepared to secure the title and keep it on Tanzanian soil. 

The fight marks his first opportunity to compete for an international championship at home.

"I am well-prepared for tomorrow's battle. I understand the magnitude of this fight and what it means for me and my country. I urge all Tanzanians to rally behind me with their support and prayers so that I can bring home the victory," Mchanja said.

Fajardo, however, remains equally determined, stating his intent to return to the Philippines as the WBO Global Champion.

The event also features a lineup of thrilling undercard fights. Ibrahim Mafia will defend his WBC Africa Championship title against Lusinzo Manzana of South Africa, while Said Chino will battle South African Malcolm Klassen for the IBA International title. 

Kalolo Amiri will put his PST International title on the line against Sihle wa Jelwana of India.

In another highlight, Salmini Kasim will compete for the IBF Intercontinental title against Adrian Lerasan of the Philippines.

Other matchups include Mfaume Mfaume facing Paulus Amavila of Namibia, Fadhili Majiha going head-to-head with Ghana's John Zile, and Frank Shagembe taking on Asemahle Wellem of South Africa.

Additionally, Said Bwanga will square off against Gurpreet Singh, Abbada Cadabra Ferooz will meet Latibu Muwonge, and Joh Babai will face India’s Manish. 

Luckman Kimoko will fight Bismark Saah, while Leila Macho will challenge Agnes Mtimaukanena.

With such a stellar lineup, tomorrow's event at the Super Dome promises to deliver an electrifying evening of boxing. Fans eagerly await to see if Mchanja can triumph on home turf and claim the WBO Global title.
