The champions of the National Beach Handball Club Championship will be decided today as the tournament concludes at Pweza Beach in Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam.
The competition, which has brought together clubs from various regions across the country, promises an exciting showdown as teams vie for the top spot.
Speaking to The Respondent, Tanzania Handball Association (TAHA) Beach Handball Commission Chairperson Bruno Johnson shared that the event isn’t just about crowning champions. It also serves as a platform to scout players for the national team set to compete internationally next year.
“These championships began on the mainland and will soon continue in Zanzibar,” Johnson explained. “Our goal is to identify talented players for Tanzania’s under-17 national team, which will represent the country on the international stage.”
Johnson called on fans and sports enthusiasts to turn out in large numbers to support the teams, enjoy high-energy entertainment, and witness the impressive talent on display.
“This is not only about the competition but also about discovering the passion and skill that drives this sport in Tanzania,” he said.
The final matches promise to deliver top-notch excitement and showcase the future stars of beach handball.
