Simba SC holds 2024 General Meeting: key developments and future plans unveiled

Simba Sports Club convened its 2024 General Meeting, bringing together club members and leadership to discuss critical aspects of the club's growth, performance, and future strategies. 

The meeting covered a range of significant issues aimed at strengthening Simba SC both on and off the pitch.

During the session, the club's chairman, Murtaza Mangungu, took the floor to address the ongoing transformation within Simba SC. 

He detailed the club's efforts to follow through on recommendations made by its members, with particular attention to the final stages of implementing reforms passed by the Board of Trustees. 

The changes are integral to Simba’s broader restructuring efforts, designed to modernize the club and solidify its standing as a competitive force in Tanzanian and African football.

A notable highlight of the meeting was the participation of Simba SC's founder and president, Mohamed Dewji, who shared his thoughts on the club’s long-term ambitions. 

Dewji outlined Simba's infrastructural developments, focusing on the Mo Simba Arena project, which is set to provide the team with world-class facilities. 

He reiterated his commitment to making Simba SC financially independent, a vision that has been at the core of his leadership for the past seven years. 

Dewji stressed that his ultimate dream is to see Simba SC secure the African Championship, a goal that has shaped his strategy for the club's development.

The meeting also provided a detailed overview of Simba SC’s financial performance over the past year. Members were presented with the previous year's budget, including a breakdown of profits and losses. 

Additionally, the club's management shared the budget projections for the upcoming year, outlining how much revenue they expect to generate and how those funds will be allocated.

This transparency allowed members to gain insight into the club's financial health and plans for sustainable growth.

Members in attendance expressed strong support for the club’s direction, with many pledging to unite behind Simba SC in the upcoming season. 

Their backing extends to all levels of the club, including the men's, women's, and youth teams, as they compete in various tournaments. 

The sense of unity and shared ambition among members reinforced the club's mission to achieve success on the field while continuing its progress in administration and infrastructure.

With the 2024 season on the horizon, Simba SC is set to build on its legacy, fueled by its leadership’s vision and the unwavering support of its fanbase. 

The discussions held during this General Meeting mark another step in the club’s journey to becoming one of Africa's football powerhouses.
