Minister of Minerals, Hon. Anthony Mavunde, has urged Tanzanians involved in the mining value chain to seize the significant opportunity presented by the procurement of goods and services within the mining sector, which amounted to Tsh 3.1 trillion in the 2023/24 fiscal year.
The Minister made these remarks in Dar es Salaam during the official launch of the Tanzania Mining Services Association (TAMISA). He highlighted that investment in Tanzania’s mining sector is growing steadily, thanks to favorable policies implemented by the government under the leadership of President Dr. Samia S. Hassan.
According to Minister Mavunde, the formation of this association will provide a unified voice for Tanzanian service providers and suppliers, enhancing their ability to compete in the mining sector. He expressed a strong desire to see the Tsh 3.1 trillion remain in the hands of Tanzanians, which would stimulate the national economy by establishing factories to produce goods and services needed in mining operations.
