On September 17, 2024, the Deputy Minister of energy, Ms. Judith Kapinga has officially opened the management meeting of the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) in Mwanza.

The purpose of the meeting was for TPDC management to evaluate, plan, and remind each other about various institutional matters, including government directives on company operations.

Hon. Kapinga emphasized the importance of teamwork, innovation, professionalism, and fostering a sense of unity and compassion among TPDC leadership and employees.

"The Ministry is fully behind you to ensure that the government's objectives for TPDC are achieved and even surpassed," she affirmed.

She also reminded them to prioritize employee-related issues, as workers are a critical factor in the success of TPDC’s plans and goals.

"It is essential to review and improve employee benefits, including salaries, as necessary, and when the financial situation allows," stated Hon. Kapinga.

She added that such actions would help boost morale and attract quality talent to TPDC.

Furthermore, she urged the management to address the challenges of employees acting in leadership positions for extended periods without formal confirmation and other promotion-related issues to reduce grievances among staff.

This meeting comes as part of efforts to strengthen TPDC's management and align it with the broader goals of the Tanzanian government in the energy sector.
