Singida Black Stars have maintained 100 percent start of the Premier League after registering a narrow 1-0 win over debutants Pamba Jiji at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza on Tuesday.
Emmanuel Kayekeh scored probably the fastest goal of the season after finding the back of the net in the first minute, a goal that sustained throughout the normal period of play.
Following the outcome, Singida Black Stars have collected 12 points from four games to continue their superb performance in the unfolding campaign and are five points clear at the top of the log.
They lead the 16-team table with 12 points, scoring seven goals and have conceded just two goals making them so far the only team that has managed to win all four opening league fixtures.
Credit to their coach Patrick Aussems who is enjoying his spell at the club as he is negotiating them to the Promised Land though the marathon is still far from over.
On the other hand, it is the first defeat for Pamba Jiji in the league as their win-less run under the tutelage of Goran Kopunovic continues.
Prior to the upset, the Mwanza based side had registered three straight draws to accumulate 3 points before dropping maximum points at the hands of Singida Black Stars.
But, not all is lost for them as there are still more fixtures to come of which they need to put on serious face to bag as many points as necessary or else, they will be relegated at the end of the campaign.
However, both Pamba Jiji and KenGold which are making their maiden appearance in the top flight league are still searching for the first wins with the latter losing all their three opening clashes.
How long it will take them to adapt to the progressing league is still unknown and people are yet to see the best performance they showcased in the Championship League last season before being elevated.
