Young Africans have come from behind to cherish a 2-1 win over Red Arrows in an international friendly match to climax Wananchi Day.
The visitors took the lead through Ricky Banda whose powerful header in the 6th minute dropped into the back of the net.
He used well his physical abilities to get the better of Yanga's center back Aziz Andambwile who was easily subdued in the process.
His goal sustained throughout the first half as the hosts could not manage to find a breakthrough despite making several goal scoring attempts.
In the second half, Yanga changed the whole team which was a turning point for them as they began to press a lot no wonder they found an equaliser in the 65th minute via Mudathir Yahya.
His long range volley was too hot for Red Arrows goalie Charles Kalumba to punch it to safety hence exploding the full packed stadium into cheers.
Later, Stephanie Aziz Ki doubled the lead through a spot-kick awarded in the addition time to enable his team claim a hard-earned victory.
In another development, Vice President Dr Philip Mpango was officially handed Yanga's membership card by the club's president Hersi Said.
Dr Mpango graced the annual event as the guest of honour and with the gesture, it truly identifies him as the legal member of the Jangwani street based side.
