Simba Queens have missed the opportunity to qualify for the CAF Women's Champions League CECAFA qualifiers finals after succumbing to a 3-2 defeat from Kenya Police Bullets.

The two sides met in an early semi-final match at Abebe Bikila Stadium in Ethiopia on Monday afternoon searching for a slot into the finals.

Lucy Jira put the Kenyan side ahead in the 29th minute of the match after using well goalkeeping flaws showcased by Simba shot-stopper Caroline Rufa hence gifting their opponents an opener.

However, Simba Queens responded positively in the 38th minute through Vivian Corazone who made it level and drove her team back into the contest.

In the 56th minute, Simba Queens stretched their lead via Corazone who sealed a brace forcing the Kenyan based outfits to crawl from behind and they balanced the equation in the 61st minute through Diana Wacera.

At 2-2, the game heated as both sides had equal chances to restore their lead but it was the Kenyan team that sourced the winner in the 82nd minute through Rebecca Akinyi.

She was a hero as her crucial goal made the difference on the day, propelling her team all the way to the finals.

To reach this far, Simba Queens topped group B with 7 points from three matches while Kenya Police Bullets secured second place in group A after accumulating 4 points from three encounters.
