Airtel Tanzania hands over motorcycle to a winner of ‘Upige Mwingi’ campaign

DAR ES SALAAM: In a move of empowering Tanzanians to achieve development dreams and supporting government development initiatives, a telecom company, Airtel Tanzania, has handed over a motorcycle to a winner of the “Upige Mwingi” promotion.


The grand winner, Shabani Ramadhani, received the motorcycle, expressing how the prize will change his income generation trend.


The motorcycle will support my businesses and improve my income generation” he said without mentioning kind of businesses.


Speaking during the handover ceremony on Monday (August 5), Airtel’s Public Relations and Communications Manager, Mr. Jackson Mmbando revealed that apart from the motorcycle gift, the three-month promotion also awarded mobile phone airtime and internet bundles.


The conducive environment created by the government has stimulated online business activities, allowing individuals to generate income and improve their livelihoods,” he added.


On her part Airtel Money Manager Ms. Janeth Kwilasa expressed her gratitude to the government and customers, emphasizing that the prize giveaways are part of the telecom’s commitment to giving back to the community.


Our aim is to share our achievements with the community,” she noted.
