Dar es Salaam: The new express train services from Dar es
Salaam to Morogoro will start on July 5, 2024, the Tanzania Railway Corporation
(TRC) announced.
A public statement issued by TRC’s Head of Communication
Unit, Jamila Mbarouk on Monday says the express trains will be taking off from
Dar es Salaam at 06:00 am and 7:10 pm and from Morogoro at 06:20 am and 7:30
pm.
“We have increased our routes due to alarming demand and
with these introductions, there will be eight trips in a day with 14 wagons,”
Jamila noted.
Ms Jamila said the schedule for the regular train from Dar
es Salaam to Morogoro will be at 9:30 am and 04:00 pm and from Morogoro to Dar
es Salaam will be 7:50 am and 04:20 pm. The new timetable for the regular trains
will also begin on July 5 this year.
There is no change on transport fare, as passengers will
keep paying the previous announced amount that was Sh13, 000 for adults and Sh6500
for 4-12 years kids.
