Angolan President João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço has arrived in Tanzania for a three-day state visit expected to strengthen bilateral relations and open new opportunities for cooperation, investment and economic growth for citizens of both countries.
President Lourenço arrived at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, where he was received by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Dr Mahmoud Thabit Kombo.
The visit provides an opportunity for Tanzania and Angola to deepen their partnership and explore practical ways of expanding cooperation in areas that can support business growth, create employment opportunities and improve the livelihoods of their people.
On October 29, 2026, President Lourenço is scheduled to receive an official welcome from his host, President Samia Suluhu Hassan, at State House in Dar es Salaam.
The two leaders will hold bilateral talks on issues of mutual interest, with discussions expected to focus on strengthening cooperation between the two nations.
Following the meeting, the presidents are expected to address the media and outline the key agreements and outcomes of their discussions, giving the public an opportunity to understand the progress made during the visit.
On October 30, President Lourenço will travel to Dodoma, Tanzania’s capital, where he will join President Samia for the official launch of Mtumba Government City, a major government development project.
The visit is expected to reinforce diplomatic relations between Tanzania and Angola while creating a platform for greater collaboration in areas of shared interest.
For citizens, stronger ties between the two countries could create opportunities for trade, investment, knowledge exchange and employment, depending on the agreements reached and their implementation.
The visit underscores the importance of regional and international partnerships in advancing economic development and building a future that delivers tangible benefits to the people of Tanzania and Angola.
