Simba SC have been fined TZS15 million for misconduct by their supporters during the Mainland Premier League derby against rivals Yanga, which Simba won 2-1.
A statement issued by the Tanzania Premier League Board's Information and Communications Department said Simba fans threw bottles onto the pitch and entered the field of play during the match.
The club was also found to have repeated the offence of throwing bottles onto the pitch after a similar incident during an earlier match against Pamba Jiji in the 2026/27 season.
“Of the total amount, Simba have been fined TZS5 million for their supporters entering the field of play while the match was in progress. One of them chased a ball boy and caused disorder before being restrained by security personnel,” the statement said.
In another disciplinary decision, centre referee Yassin Salim from Tanga and assistant referee Christina Chitunda from Iringa have been suspended from officiating for five match rounds.
The two officials were sanctioned over their handling of the goalless draw between Mbuni and Kigamboni United, with the board citing shortcomings in their officiating and failure to correctly interpret the Laws of the Game.
Meanwhile, TMA Iringa have forfeited their match against Stand United of Shinyanga after failing to turn up at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya without acceptable reasons, resulting in the fixture not being played.
Stand United have consequently been awarded a 3-0 victory and three points.
In addition to forfeiting the match, TMA have been fined TZS10 million, ordered to compensate for the costs incurred in preparing the fixture and deducted three points from the NBC Championship standings.
The club's chairman, Twaha Abdallah, has also been suspended for one year over the team's failure to honour the fixture.
In another ruling, Rhino Rangers equipment manager Juma Rajabu was fined TZS1 million for conduct deemed to suggest superstition during preparations for a match.
According to the statement, Rajabu was seen sprinkling powder on the corner flags as players headed out for their warm-up ahead of Rhino Rangers' match against IAA.
Rhino Rangers lost the match 1-0 to IAA.
