Mineral indicative prices for October 06, 2026

The Mining Commission has set the indicative buying price for gold at TZS312,800.47 per gram for October 6, 2026, as international gold prices remain above $4,000 per troy ounce.

According to the commission’s latest mineral indicative prices, the world market price for gold stood at $4,171.47 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS355,455.08 per gram.

The indicative mineral market price in Tanzania was set at TZS319,909.58 per gram, while the buying centre price was TZS312,800.47 per gram.

The figures provide a benchmark for transactions involving the precious metal and offer miners and traders an indication of prevailing market values.

The Mining Commission also released indicative prices for silver and copper.

Silver was quoted at $61.82 per troy ounce on the world market, equivalent to TZS5,267.74 per gram.

Its indicative mineral market price in Tanzania was TZS4,740.97 per gram, while the buying centre price was set at TZS4,635.61 per gram.

For copper, the world market price stood at $6.66 per pound, translating to TZS38.92 per gram. The indicative mineral market price was TZS35.03 per gram, with buying centres quoting TZS34.25 per gram.

The latest prices come as Tanzania continues to strengthen the formal marketing of minerals through authorised buying centres, with indicative prices helping establish reference points for transactions.

The commission publishes mineral prices to guide market participants, particularly miners and mineral traders, on prevailing values and support transparency in the sector.

For small-scale miners, movements in international prices are particularly significant because they influence the value of mineral output and potential earnings from sales through formal channels.

The gold price of more than TZS312,000 per gram at buying centres also underscores the growing economic value of gold, which remains one of Tanzania’s key mineral exports.

The Mining Commission's figures are indicative and may vary from the final transaction price depending on factors including mineral quality, purity and applicable charges.
