Tanzania’s Fox Divas have secured a historic place in the Africa Women’s Basketball Club Championship finals for the first time, marking a major milestone for the country’s women’s basketball.
The team booked their ticket to the continental competition, scheduled for December in Cairo, Egypt, after overcoming Kenya’s experienced side KPA 102-97 on aggregate.
The victory is significant for Fox Divas, who have earned Tanzania a place in a competition that brings together some of the continent’s leading women’s basketball clubs.
KPA’s experience in the tournament, having featured in last year’s finals, made the victory an important achievement for the Tanzanian side.
Fox Divas will now represent Tanzania at the finals, where they will face some of Africa’s strongest club sides as they seek to make an impact on their maiden appearance.
They will join Rwanda’s REG and APR, who have also secured qualification for the tournament.
The qualification offers Fox Divas an opportunity to test themselves against top continental opposition while raising Tanzania’s profile in women’s club basketball.
