Tanzania is seeking to deepen its engagement with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Development Centre as part of efforts to strengthen policy cooperation and promote solutions to the country’s development challenges.
Tanzania’s Ambassador to France, Saidi Othman Yakubu, held talks with Federico Bonaglia, Deputy Director of the OECD Development Centre, during a meeting focused on the organisation’s engagement with African countries that are not OECD members.
Mr Bonaglia briefed Ambassador Yakubu on the OECD’s work, particularly its cooperation with African countries outside the organisation’s membership. He also outlined the role of the Development Centre in facilitating policy dialogue, sharing experiences and supporting countries in identifying solutions to common development challenges.
The engagement provides Tanzania with an opportunity to strengthen access to international policy experience and expertise, while contributing its own development experiences to wider discussions on Africa’s economic and social transformation.
Ambassador Yakubu commended the Development Centre for its contribution to development policy and reaffirmed Tanzania’s commitment to strengthening cooperation that delivers mutual benefits.
The meeting comes as Tanzania continues to expand international partnerships aimed at supporting its development priorities through policy dialogue, knowledge exchange and cooperation with international institutions.
