President Samia Suluhu Hassan has sent condolences to the United Arab Emirates following the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, brother of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also Ruler of Dubai.
President Samia conveyed her condolences to Sheikh Mohammed, the Al Maktoum Royal Family and the people and government of the UAE on behalf of Tanzania.
A statement said the President had learnt of Sheikh Ahmed’s death with “profound sorrow” and extended her thoughts and prayers to the bereaved family during the period of mourning.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Tanzania, President Samia conveys her deepest condolences to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Al Maktoum Royal Family, and the Government and people of the United Arab Emirates,” the statement said.
President Samia also prayed for Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest in Jannah.
