The Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Dar es Salaam Regional Executive Council has endorsed the decision by the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) to expel former member Emmanuel John Nchimbi from the ruling party.
The endorsement was made on Sunday, September 6, 2026, during a meeting of the regional executive council held at Karimjee Hall in Dar es Salaam and chaired by the regional CCM chairman, Mr Abbas Zuberi Mtemvu.
The meeting endorsed resolutions adopted by the CCM NEC during its meeting on August 26, including the decision to expel Dr Nchimbi from the party.
Mr Mtemvu said the regional leadership respected the NEC decision, arguing that it had been reached in accordance with the CCM Constitution and the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania.
“The CCM Dar es Salaam Regional Executive Council endorses the decisions of the CCM National Executive Council meeting held on August 26, 2026, regarding the expulsion of Comrade Emmanuel John Nchimbi from CCM. The CCM Dar es Salaam Regional Executive Council commends the decisions made by CCM National,” he said while presenting the resolutions.
He said the decisions were made in the wider national interest and were guided by Article 103(8) of the 1977 CCM Constitution and Article 50(2)(c) of the Constitution of the United Republic of Tanzania.
In a separate resolution, the regional council congratulated Deogratius Ndejembi on his appointment as Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania following his nomination by President Samia Suluhu Hassan, approval by Parliament and subsequent swearing-in.
The council wished Mr Ndejembi success in his new responsibilities and urged him to discharge his duties in accordance with the Constitution.
The regional council also congratulated President Samia for what it described as her efforts to strengthen CCM and promote Tanzania’s development.
It further wished the President good health and success in carrying out her responsibilities.
Mr Mtemvu said the CCM leadership in Dar es Salaam would continue supporting the party’s chairperson in efforts to strengthen the organisation and contribute to the country’s development.
