By Our ReporterMore than 30 countries will be represented at this year’s Buildexpo Tanzania, giving local construction industry players an opportunity to access new technologies, suppliers and potential investment partnerships as demand for infrastructure and urban development continues to grow.
The 27th International Construction and Building Exhibition will take place from September 23 to 25 at the Diamond Jubilee Exhibition Centre in Dar es Salaam, bringing together architects, engineers, contractors, manufacturers, investors and other players in the construction value chain.
The exhibition is expected to provide a platform for local businesses and professionals to assess new construction, water, wood-processing and lighting technologies while exploring how such solutions can improve efficiency and expand business opportunities in Tanzania and the wider region.
The event will be officially opened by the Minister for Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development, Dr Leonard D.
Akwilapo, and is expected to be attended by diplomats, government officials and representatives of the private sector.
Buildexpo Tanzania 2026 will run alongside Afriwood, Watertech and Lightexpo Tanzania, bringing together businesses dealing with construction materials, water technologies, wood products and lighting solutions.
Exhibitors from China, Turkey, Germany, Portugal, India, Tanzania and Kenya are among those expected to participate.
The organisers say participants will be able to display products, demonstrate technologies and establish business contacts with potential customers and partners.
For Tanzania's construction industry, the exhibition could also provide a link between local demand and international suppliers, particularly as developers, contractors and infrastructure projects increasingly require modern equipment, materials and technical solutions.
The organisers said the event would also allow participants to exchange experience and identify opportunities for collaboration, investment and market expansion.
The exhibition is supported by the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade), Association of Architects Tanzania (AAT), Institution of Engineers Tanzania, TUCASA and the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA).
Architects, engineers, contractors, investors and other professionals in the sector have been invited to attend the exhibition, with entry for business visitors being free.
