The Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vodacom Tanzania to strengthen the investment environment through digital technology and improved business services.
The agreement, signed on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, seeks to combine TISEZA’s role in promoting, coordinating and facilitating investment with Vodacom’s expertise in digital communication and technology solutions for businesses and institutions.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, TISEZA Director General Gilead Teri said the partnership would support efforts to make Tanzania a more attractive destination for investors by expanding access to digital services and technology-driven business solutions.
He said closer collaboration between the Government and the private sector was essential to achieving the objectives of Tanzania’s Development Vision 2050, particularly the creation of a competitive economy anchored in innovation, modern digital infrastructure and efficient services.
“The partnership will help link TISEZA’s investment facilitation mandate with Vodacom’s digital capabilities to improve the investment environment,” Mr Teri said.
He added that the growing use of digital technology was increasingly important in improving the efficiency of business operations and facilitating access to investment-related services.
Vodacom Business Director Nguvu Kamando said the partnership would focus on areas including business development, investment, digital infrastructure and investment promotion.
He said the agreement would give investors greater access to quality digital services while supporting efforts to improve Tanzania’s investment ecosystem.
“This is a partnership that will benefit both sides, particularly by creating opportunities for investors to access better digital services,” Mr Kamando said.
He commended TISEZA for its efforts to create a business-friendly investment environment, saying Vodacom Tanzania had benefited from the country’s investment climate during its 26 years of operations.
The agreement underscores the growing role of digital infrastructure in Tanzania’s efforts to attract investment, improve business efficiency and support the development of a competitive economy.
