Gold, silver and copper prices remained at elevated levels in Tanzania on Monday, August 31, 2026, according to indicative prices issued by the Mining Commission.
The latest figures show the world market price of gold at $4,617 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS 393,812.50 per gram.
At the domestic mineral market, gold was valued at TZS 354,431.25 per gram, while the indicative buying centre price stood at TZS 346,555 per gram.
Silver was quoted at $70.26 per troy ounce on the world market, translating to TZS 5,992.91 per gram.
The indicative mineral market price for silver was TZS 5,393.62 per gram, while buying centres were expected to offer TZS 5,273.76 per gram.
Meanwhile, copper traded at $6.59 per pound on the world market, equivalent to TZS 38.55 per gram.
The indicative mineral market price for copper stood at TZS 34.69 per gram, with the buying centre price set at TZS 33.92 per gram.
The indicative prices provide a reference for mineral trading and are an important guide for miners, traders and other stakeholders involved in Tanzania's mineral sector.
Gold remains one of Tanzania's major mineral exports and a key source of foreign exchange, while silver and copper continue to contribute to the country's growing mining industry.
