Mineral indicative prices for August 26, 2026


The Mining Commission has released indicative prices for gold, silver and copper for August 26, 2026, providing the latest reference prices for the minerals in the local market.

Gold is quoted at $4,688.10 per troy ounce (toz) on the world market, equivalent to TZS 400,428.72 per gram.

The indicative mineral market price for gold stands at TZS 360,385.85 per gram, while the buying centre price has been set at TZS 352,377.27 per gram.

For silver, the world market price is $69.49 per troy ounce, translating to TZS 5,935.41 per gram. The indicative mineral market price is TZS 5,341.87 per gram, while the buying centre price stands at TZS 5,223.16 per gram.

Copper is quoted at $6.70 per pound on the world market, equivalent to TZS 39.24 per gram. Its indicative mineral market price is TZS 35.32 per gram, while the buying centre price is TZS 34.53 per gram.

The prices serve as reference points for mineral trading and reflect prevailing international market conditions and corresponding local valuations.

Gold continues to command the highest value among the three minerals, with its international price remaining significantly above those of silver and copper.

The Mining Commission regularly issues indicative mineral prices to guide transactions and promote greater transparency in the trading of minerals in Tanzania.
