The Mining Commission has released its indicative mineral prices for August 13, 2026, with gold trading at more than TZS 334,000 per gram at buying centres.
According to the latest price bulletin, the world market price of gold stood at US$4,441.65 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS 379,719.77 per gram.
The indicative mineral market price for gold was set at TZS 341,747.79 per gram, while the buying centre price stood at TZS 334,153.40 per gram.
For silver, the world market price was US$66.25 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS 5,663.76 per gram.
The indicative mineral market price for silver was TZS 5,097.38 per gram, while the buying centre price stood at TZS 4,984.11 per gram.
Meanwhile, copper was quoted at US$6.59 per pound on the world market, equivalent to TZS 38.63 per gram.
The indicative mineral market price for copper was TZS 34.77 per gram, while the buying centre price was TZS 34.00 per gram.
The Mining Commission’s indicative prices provide a reference for mineral transactions in Tanzania, helping miners, traders and buying centres assess prevailing market values.
The latest figures highlight the continued importance of global commodity prices and exchange-rate movements in determining the value of minerals traded in Tanzania.
