The Kizimkazi Festival and Trade Exhibition 2026 has officially opened in Zanzibar, providing a platform for promoting tourism, trade, culture and investment opportunities across Tanzania.
The festival was officially launched on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, by Zanzibar President and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi, at Kizimkazi.
The event has brought together tourism stakeholders, businesses and visitors from within and outside Tanzania, with organisers using the platform to showcase the country’s tourism attractions, cultural heritage and investment opportunities.
The Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA), participating through the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism pavilion, is using the festival to educate visitors about wildlife conservation and tourism opportunities in the country’s national parks.
TANAPA officials are also providing information on investment opportunities available within national parks, highlighting the potential of conservation areas to contribute to economic development while protecting Tanzania’s natural heritage.
The festival comes as Tanzania continues to position tourism as an important source of employment, foreign exchange and business opportunities, particularly for communities linked to tourism destinations.
Beyond tourism promotion, the Kizimkazi festival provides a platform for businesses and other stakeholders to connect with potential customers, investors and partners while showcasing locally available products and services.
Visitors have been invited to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism pavilion to access information from TANAPA and other institutions on conservation, tourism and investment opportunities.
The Kizimkazi Festival and Trade Exhibition is expected to continue serving as a platform for linking Tanzania’s rich natural and cultural resources with economic opportunities for businesses and communities.
