A total of 173 Tanzanians who had been living in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, have returned home after voluntarily opting to leave the country.
The Tanzanian Government provided a special aircraft to facilitate their return, ensuring the nationals travelled home safely and with dignity.
The repatriation exercise was conducted in collaboration with the Tanzanian Embassy in South Africa and relevant authorities, giving the affected citizens an organised and secure way to return home.
The Government said the move reflects its commitment to remaining connected with Tanzanians living abroad and protecting their welfare, particularly when citizens seek assistance to return home.
The return of the 173 nationals also highlights the role of Tanzania’s diplomatic missions in supporting citizens abroad and coordinating with authorities to facilitate safe repatriation when necessary.
