Tanzania swimmer Collins Saliboko has continued to make strides on the international stage after setting a new personal best time in the men’s 50-metre Backstroke event at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Scotland.
Saliboko recorded 28.31 seconds in the race yesterday, July 24, 2026, lowering his previous personal best of 28.88 seconds.
The improved performance reflects the swimmer’s steady progress as he competes against some of the best athletes from Commonwealth countries at the global sporting event.
Speaking after the race, Saliboko said he was pleased with the improvement and remained committed to working harder to achieve better results in future competitions.
“I am happy to have improved my time. This gives me more motivation to continue training hard and represent Tanzania well in upcoming events,” he said.
Saliboko’s achievement adds to Tanzania’s growing presence at international sporting competitions, with athletes continuing to gain valuable experience and improve their performances on the global stage.
