CCM Secretary-General Ambassador Dr Asha-Rose Migiro has called on Tanzania's representatives in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) to safeguard the country's interests while working to deepen regional integration within the East African Community (EAC).
Speaking during a meeting with the legislators at the party's headquarters in Dodoma on Friday, Dr Migiro congratulated them on the responsibility of representing Tanzania in the regional Parliament and urged them to uphold unity and constructive engagement with colleagues from other EAC partner states.
She said Tanzania's legislators should continue advancing policies and initiatives that strengthen cooperation across the bloc while ensuring the country's priorities remain well represented in regional decision-making.
Dr Migiro noted that stronger collaboration among EALA members would contribute to the EAC's integration agenda, highlighting Tanzania's longstanding role as one of the Community's founding members.
She also reaffirmed CCM's confidence in the legislators, saying the party expects them to discharge their responsibilities with diligence and will continue supporting them as they execute their national and regional mandate.
