Boxers gear up for fierce battles at Dar Boxing Derby

Professional boxers have stepped up their preparations ahead of the much-anticipated Dar Boxing Derby, promising fans a night of thrilling action, intense competition and high-quality boxing when the event takes place on July 24, 2026, in Dar es Salaam.

The tournament has already generated excitement among boxing enthusiasts, with fighters expressing confidence in their ability to deliver impressive performances and secure victories inside the ring.

Among the most awaited encounters is the clash between Adam Peter of Magomeni and Hassan Ndongo, popularly known as Tyson wa Bongo, from Mabibo.

Peter said he has completed extensive preparations and is ready to put on a strong performance against Ndongo, whom he described as a talented and experienced boxer.

“I respect my opponent because he is a good fighter, but my preparations have given me confidence that I will perform well and emerge victorious,” Peter said.

He called on boxing fans to attend the event in large numbers, saying their support would provide motivation for the fighters and contribute to the success of the tournament.

Peter’s supporters have also expressed optimism about his chances, with fan Joseph Mwaigisya saying they are confident their boxer will deliver a winning performance and that they are prepared to rally behind him on the day of the fight.

Another bout expected to attract attention will feature Issa Mollel of Kinyogori Boxing Gym in Ilala against Ally Mazome from Morogoro.

Mollel said he is in excellent shape and ready to use his technical skills, speed and ring experience to overcome his opponent.

“My preparations are complete, and I believe I have what it takes to control the fight and give fans a memorable performance,” he said.

The event will also feature a highly anticipated showdown between Juma Choki of Kijichi and Tonny Rashid, a fight expected to be among the biggest attractions of the Dar Boxing Derby due to the competitive nature of both boxers.

With several promising match-ups lined up, the Dar Boxing Derby is set to provide a major platform for local boxing talent while offering fans an exciting showcase of professional boxing in Tanzania.
