The Bank of Tanzania (BoT) has won the top award for the Best Pavilion in the Regulatory Institutions category at the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), underscoring its efforts to improve public understanding of the country's financial system and the central bank's role in the economy.

The award was presented by Deputy Minister for Industry and Trade Dennis Londo during the official closing ceremony of the fair on Monday, marking the end of the annual exhibition held at the Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere Grounds from June 28 to July 13, 2026.

The award was received on behalf of BoT by Noves Moses, Assistant Manager in the bank's Communications Department.

According to the central bank, the recognition was based on the quality of its exhibition pavilion, the effectiveness of its public education programme and the overall experience provided to visitors throughout the 16-day event.

At its pavilion, BoT engaged members of the public on its key responsibilities, including implementing monetary policy, maintaining price stability, regulating the financial sector and payment systems, and promoting financial inclusion to support sustainable economic growth.

The bank said more than 15,000 visitors including government officials, diplomats, representatives of public and private institutions, students and members of the public visited its stand during the exhibition.

Visitors were able to interact directly with BoT officials, seek clarification on monetary policy, financial services and the country's banking system, and learn more about the institution's role in safeguarding economic and financial stability.

BoT said the award recognises the commitment, professionalism and innovation demonstrated by its staff in designing and managing the pavilion.

It added that the achievement reinforces the bank's commitment to expanding public financial literacy, strengthening stakeholder engagement and ensuring Tanzanians have access to timely, accurate and transparent information on its policies, mandate and services.
