Tanzania strengthens cooperation with Belgium to boost conservation, tourism, and investment

Tanzania has intensified its international engagement with Belgium through renewed efforts to strengthen cooperation in conservation, tourism development, and investment promotion in national parks.

A delegation led by the Conservation Commissioner of the Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA), CPA Mussa N. K. Juma, visited the Embassy of Tanzania in Belgium for strategic discussions aimed at enhancing partnerships that support the sustainable development of Tanzania’s protected areas and tourism industry.

The delegation, which included officials from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism and TANAPA, was received by the Acting Ambassador of Tanzania to Belgium, Alphonce Mayalla

The discussions focused on practical ways to promote Tanzania’s rich tourism attractions while attracting increased investment into conservation and tourism infrastructure.

Key participants in the meeting included the Secretary for Diaspora Affairs in Belgium and Luxembourg, Nahum Kisoky, alongside the Chief Executive Officer of Diplomatic World magazine, Barbara Dietrich.

The engagement highlighted opportunities for collaboration in marketing Tanzania’s national parks to international audiences, strengthening conservation initiatives, and expanding sustainable tourism investment.

Officials noted that such diplomatic interactions play a crucial role in enhancing Tanzania’s visibility globally as a premier tourism destination while also creating avenues for economic cooperation and knowledge exchange.

The visit reflects Tanzania’s continued commitment to building strong international partnerships that support wildlife conservation and position tourism as a key pillar of national economic growth.
