The Government in Mbarali District, Mbeya Region, has praised the Executive Director of Mbarali District Council, Raymond Mweli, for his commitment to hard work, discipline, and effective implementation of government directives aimed at improving services to citizens.

The recognition was made on June 6, 2026, by Mbarali District Commissioner Maulidi Surumbu while addressing residents during a ceremony for the distribution of loans to 52 groups of women, youth, and people living with disabilities.

The loans are part of the government’s 10 percent allocation program implemented by local government authorities to promote economic empowerment at grassroots level.

Commissioner Surumbu said the council has recorded significant improvement in performance, noting that most of the directives issued by the government have been properly implemented under the leadership of the Executive Director.

He said the progress reflects strong coordination within the council and a commitment to ensuring that public services reach citizens in a timely and efficient manner.

“I want to acknowledge that the council is now performing well. All the directives we gave to the Executive Director have been implemented. This is commendable work, and I encourage all public servants to continue supporting him so that we can better serve wananchi and address their challenges,” said Commissioner Surumbu.

He further called on council staff to strengthen teamwork with the Executive Director, stressing that cooperation is key to resolving community challenges and improving service delivery across the district.

Mbarali Member of Parliament Bahati Ndingo also commended the leadership of Mweli, saying the benefits of his efforts are already visible among residents, especially through the improved implementation of the 10 percent loan scheme.

He said the next loan disbursement is expected to increase to about 400 million shillings, which will further boost economic activities among women, youth, and other groups.

“This is leadership that delivers results. We must support the Executive Director because wananchi are already benefiting. I have been informed that the next phase will involve about 400 million shillings for Mbarali residents. This is a big achievement,” said the MP.

He also revealed that plans are underway to establish a dedicated youth platform that will allow young people to raise their challenges directly while the council presents available opportunities for development and empowerment.

Community member Tumaini Ngota said residents have started seeing real changes in service delivery, especially through regular outreach visits conducted by council officials to wards and villages.

He said these visits have helped improve communication between leaders and citizens, allowing many issues to be resolved promptly at the local level.

“We are seeing real changes. Council officials now visit our areas more frequently together with ward and village leaders. Many problems are solved immediately, and those that cannot be solved are directed properly for action. We thank the government for appointing such leadership in our district,” said Ngota.

Residents expressed optimism that continued cooperation between government leaders, council staff, and the public will further improve service delivery and accelerate development in Mbarali District.
