Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Emmanuel Nchimbi, has called on newly appointed ambassadors to strongly protect and promote Tanzania’s interests as they begin their diplomatic duties in different countries around the world.

He made the call during a farewell meeting held at Ikulu Chamwino in Dodoma, where he met and held talks with the ambassadors before they left to take up their new assignments.

The Vice President reminded them that their main role is to represent Tanzania in a way that brings economic, political and diplomatic benefits to the country.

He urged them to be active, creative and committed in promoting investment and trade opportunities available in Tanzania so that more foreign investors and business people can come and invest in the country.

He also told them to fully support and implement the vision of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, especially in strengthening the economy and improving Tanzania’s relations with other countries.

He added that their work should also align with the National Development Vision 2050, the CCM Election Manifesto, and other government priorities.

The Vice President congratulated the ambassadors for being trusted by the President to serve in important positions, saying the appointment is a sign of confidence in their ability and experience.

He encouraged them to work hard and ensure they protect the good image of Tanzania abroad.

The appointed ambassadors include Zena Ahmed Said who will serve in Saudi Arabia, Cyprian Luhemeja in Zambia, Maulidah Hassan in Oman, Salim Othman Hamad in Comoros, Swahiba Mndeme in Sweden, Noel Kaganda in South Korea, and Musa Haji Ali in the United Nations in New York.

Speaking on behalf of the ambassadors, Maulidah Hassan thanked the Vice President for the guidance and advice, saying they have received clear direction and are ready to serve with dedication.

She assured that they will work hard to strengthen Tanzania’s presence and cooperation with other countries.
