TBF and UAE explore strategic partnership to boost Basketball

Leaders from the Tanzania Basketball Federation (TBF) and the United Arab Emirates Basketball Federation (UAEBF) met yesterday, April 1, 2026, in Pretoria, South Africa, to discuss a strategic partnership aimed at advancing basketball development. 

The talks focused on organizing friendly matches, providing professional coaching training, and investing in sports infrastructure.

Both federations also agreed to exchange technical expertise and collaborate on securing basketball equipment to improve the quality of the game.

Speaking during the meeting, Executive Secretary of the National Sports Council, Neema Msitha, affirmed the government’s full support and readiness to assist stakeholders whenever needed.

The session concluded with a decision to draft a formal agreement outlining key areas of collaboration, a move expected to strengthen basketball development both nationally and internationally.
