The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ngwaru Maghembe, has arrived in Brazil on a working visit aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations and expanding economic cooperation between Tanzania and Brazil.

Upon arrival, Dr. Maghembe was received at the Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Brazil by Tanzania’s Ambassador to Brazil, John Stephen Simbachawene

He later held discussions with Embassy staff, where he underscored the importance of economic diplomacy in promoting Tanzania’s national interests abroad.

Dr. Maghembe stressed that Tanzanian diplomatic missions play a key role in attracting investment, promoting trade, and opening new markets for Tanzanian products.

He called on officials at the Embassy to intensify efforts in engaging Brazilian investors and showcasing opportunities available in key sectors of Tanzania’s economy.

He noted that Brazil remains a strategic partner for Tanzania, with vast opportunities for cooperation in agriculture, livestock development, trade, tourism, and investment.

Strengthening these areas, he said, will contribute significantly to job creation, technology transfer, and inclusive economic growth.

During his visit, Dr. Maghembe will lead the Tanzanian delegation to the Second Round of Political Consultations between Tanzania and Brazil.

The high-level meeting is expected to provide a platform for both countries to review progress in bilateral cooperation and set new priorities for future collaboration.

The consultations will focus on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, livestock, tourism, and other key development sectors.

Both sides are also expected to explore new areas of partnership that can further strengthen economic ties and deliver tangible benefits to citizens of both countries.

The visit reflects Tanzania’s continued commitment to strengthening international partnerships and advancing economic diplomacy as part of efforts to accelerate national development and expand opportunities for its citizens.
