The Tanzania Professional Boxing Regulatory Commission (TPBRC) has officially launched a new digital system designed to modernize and improve the management of professional boxing in the country, marking a major step toward enhanced efficiency, transparency, and service delivery within the sports sector.
The system was launched on April 16, 2026, in Dar es Salaam by the Executive Secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC), Neema Msitha, as part of the government’s broader agenda to strengthen the use of digital technology in sports administration and governance.
Accessible through the commission’s official website, tpbrc.or.tz, the platform has been developed to streamline key services required by boxing stakeholders.
It is expected to reduce administrative delays and paperwork that have long affected service delivery in the sector.
Through the new system, users will be able to apply for travel permits, register boxing gyms, coaches, and professional boxers, as well as request fight permits through a faster, more secure, and more efficient online process.
Speaking during the launch, Msitha described the system as a significant reform in the professional boxing industry, saying it will simplify access to information and reduce bureaucratic bottlenecks that previously slowed down operations.
She added that the platform will also strengthen the identification and monitoring of boxers across the country, making it easier to track where athletes train, manage their records, and maintain accurate data on their fight history and performance.
According to Msitha, the TPBRC will now be able to store and manage all regulatory data in a secure digital environment, a move expected to enhance accountability, improve transparency, and build stronger trust between the commission and boxing stakeholders.
Sports officials have noted that the initiative aligns with ongoing government efforts to modernize sports governance through technology, aiming to improve professionalism, efficiency, and competitiveness in Tanzania’s sporting disciplines.
The digital transformation is also expected to contribute to the long-term development of boxing by creating a more organized regulatory framework that can attract greater participation, investment, and international recognition for the sport.
Overall, the launch of the TPBRC digital system represents a key milestone in the modernization of sports administration in Tanzania, with wide-ranging benefits anticipated for athletes, coaches, promoters, and other stakeholders in professional boxing.
